The DivisionsBC Medical Clinic is now offering COVID-19 testing for those exhibiting symptoms. For more information and to request an appointment, please click here.
To ensure that we can continue to care for our patients safely and effectively during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be offering timely access to virtual medical care through phone and video technologies. Some health concerns can be addressed with virtual care alone, but in some cases your doctor may ask you to visit our office for a physical examination.
We'd like to ensure our patients that we have created a safe environment if you need to be seen in the clinic for an exam.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is same-day booking, and do all doctors in the clinic follow this practice?
For each physician's working day, there will be some appointment slots that have been pre-booked by patients, and there are others that are held open until that morning. This means that if you phone in the morning on a day that your family physician is working, you may be able to book a same day appointment.
All physicians in our clinic use same-day bookings, however you are still encouraged to pre-book with your family practitioner.
- What are the policies regarding my test results? (X-Ray, Bloodwork, etc...)
If your test results contain and abnormal data, your physician or one of our office staff will call you and schedule a follow-up appointment. If you don't hear from your physician and would still like to know your results, please call the office and schedule a follow-up appointment.
- Are you open on weekends?
We are not open on weekends.
- Is there a laboratory in your facilities?
No, the Laboratory is located at the Powell River General Hospital.
Phone: 604-485-0000, Open Mon - Fri 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
- Can I renew my prescription over the phone?
Clinic policy is that patients must book an appointment to renew their prescriptions. Patients can check with their Pharmacy, as some prescriptions can be renewed for a period of time through your pharmacist.
- Do you support any teaching programs?
Yes, our clinic is a teaching site for the UBC Family Practice Residency program. We frequently have residents on site, who are in their final year of training before becoming fully licensed family doctors. Patients who are unable to be seen by their own family doctor can choose to be seen by our Family Practice Resident.
- Do you have a no-show or short cancellation policy?
Yes, we have recently implemented a no-show/short cancellation policy. If a patient does not give 24 hours notice of cancellation or doesn't show up for their appointment, they may be charged up to $50 (this is left up to their physicians's discretion).
